1. FORWARD OF THE WEEK

#1 STAR: Pavel Bure (Hitmen):
    14 gls. 3 asts. 17 pts. 10 gms.

Pavel had an incredible run since the last edition. He has helped the Hitmen run
over some good teams and could have been the missing piece of the puzzle for the
Hitmen. Pavel scored five goals in a 7-2 win over the Ice Barons as well as
scoring four goals in a 7-4 win over the Hacksaws.

#2 STAR: Petr Sykora (Winter Hawks):
     9 gls. 9 asts. 18 pts. 12 gms.

Petr took off this past month putting up some great numbers for the streaking
Winter Hawks. Playing consistant hockey is what gave Petr the great week. He had
a two goal game in a 4-1 victory over the Knights.

#3 STAR: Keith Primeau (Freeze):
     6 gls. 9 asts. 15 pts. 10 gms.

Keith gets another nomination from a team that gets most of its nominations from
there goons. Last edition Keith made it with 15 points in 11 games and puts up
another 15 points to make it in this edition. Keith had a couple of real strong
games with a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win over the Stormers and had two
goals and an assist in a 5-4 win over the Jugheads.

Here is the updated standings:

Eric Lindros (Crunch) 6 points $50,000

2. DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK

#1 STAR: Kenny Jonsson (Winter Hawks):
     4 gls. 5 asts. 9 pts. 12 gms. +5

There wasn't a heck of alot of great performances this week for the Dmen. Kenny
was the steadiest we had with the points and the plus minus. Jonsson had a +2
game against the Knights during a 4-1 victory.

#2 STAR: Al MacInnis (Hitmen):
     1 gl. 7 asts. 8 pts. 10 gms. +1

Al didn't use his big booming shot this time to get into the paper. He used his
great passing skills to help the Hitmen. Al twice had two assists in a 7-4 win
over the Hacksaws and a 5-2 win over the Spiders.

#3 STAR: Alex Karpovtsev (Winter Hawks):
     1 gl. 6 asts. 7 pts. 12 gms. +6

With the streaking Winter Hawks Alex put up some good numbers. Everyone on the
team seems to be pitching in. Karpovtsev was consistant as was the rest of his
team. He had a +2 in a 6-3 win over the Hacksaws.

Here is the updated standings:

3. GOALIE OF THE WEEK

#1 STAR: Roman Turek (Stormers):
    5-4-1 1.80 GAA .942 Save % 30.9 S/GM 1 SO

Roman had an incredible run even though his record doesn't show it. He kept the
Stormers in every game but unfortunately the Stormers couldn't finish it off.
Roman was unbelievable in a 2-1 loss to the Meatheads in where he made 49 saves.

#2 STAR: Dominic Hasek (Dragons):
    4-4-1 1.76 GAA .937 Save % 26.4 S/GM 2 SO

No surprise here. Even when the rest of the team is struggling Hasek just
doesn't ever quite. His record, though not impressive, doesn't show what he did
during the games. Has had a 36 save effort in a 3-0 shutout over the Meatheads.

#3 STAR: Steve Shields (Winter Hawks):
    10-2-0 2.00 GAA .926 Save % 27.2 S/GM 2 SO

Steve was the back bone behind the Winter Hawks streak. Playing solid in net and
giving the team a chance to win every game. Steve was just unbeatable in a 3-0
shutout over the Ice Bolts in which he made 42 saves.

Here is the updated standings:

Dominick Hasek (Dragons) 5 points $37,500

4. GOON OF THE WEEK

#1 GOON: Paul Laus (Freeze):
    75 PIM's in 10 games 4-1-4

After taking second fiddle to his partner, Bob Probert, last edition Paul didn't
let that happen again. With almost a fight a game Paul was there at every hint
of trouble. Paul put up 17 minutes against the Spiders during a 3-2 loss in
which he beat up on Matteau.

#2 GOON: Bob Probert (Freeze):
    50 PIM's in 10 games 2-1-1

Probie still has got it together putting up another big amount of PIM's. Probert
put up 22 PIM's during a 5-4 win over the Jugheads. Probie beat up on Donovan
and Roberts from the Jugheads.

#3 GOON: Kelly Chase (Stormers):
    38 PIM's in 11 games 2-0-0

Not putting up quite the numbers as the two leaders, Chaser has been there for
the Stormers. He has taken on some of the best fighters and won. Chaser put up
15 minutes during a 5-2 loss to the Freeze in which he took on Paul Laus and put
a whooping on him.

5. NEWS AND/OR RUMOURS

FREEZE

As reported earlier in the week, Kevin Hodson has been seeing the majority of
the work in net for the Freeze and thus Tommy Salo has requested a trade. Brett
Hull's name has been flying around in numerous trade rumours as well. Many deals
are in the works and it's only a matter of time before the deals are done or
possible players continue to be benched.

STORMERS

Reports out of the Stormers camp was that Miro Satan and Sean Burke were on
there way out of Sioux City but talks stalled due to there high salaries. As
well as those two Bryan McCabe was also mentioned in trade rumours. The Stormers
are looking for a major sniper on the left wing and may start shopping some of
there Dmen and there first and second round draft picks to get one.
