there nominations which saved me alot of time as I still don't connect all the

5. NEWS AND RUMOURS
VOODOO:
* What's that weird language coming from the Voodoo dressing room? It's German.
Both superstar prodigy Marco Sturm and Voodoo GM Hans K. Meyer have German
roots. And that's not all they share. To celebrate victories, the beefy Goths
pig out on plates of sauerkraut and Bratwurst. But don't expect them to be goose
stepping their way to Munich for Oktoberfest just yet. During the season, Meyer
has imposed a strict no drinking rule.
* Ted "My little brother can beat me up" Drury is finally seeing some ice time
again, and he's pretty happy about it. As a matter of fact, he's just happy to
be playing again for a contender.
"When my agent put my asking price up so high I thought no one would pick me up,
but good old Hans came through!" Ted said.
Meyer says he must have been drunk with power during the free agent signing
period.
"I thought it was Chris on the block, okay!" Meyer said angrily. "You'd think I
would have learned after picking up Sandy McCarthy instead of Darren McCarty
earlier, but no!"
* Voodoo Coach Cam Neely said his team's surprising sucess has convinced him to
give up dreams of ever playing again. However, the Voodoo Coach has been hitting
the gym pretty hard lately. What gives?
"Have you seen some of these other coaches?" he asked. "They'd kick my ass! That
Kugel is crazy! And Stumpy really needs a little anger management counseling if
you know what I mean! But I'm getting ready for them. Last weekend I watched all
the Wrestlemanias on video even the lame one with Mr. T. I think I'm going to
challenge Jack Jordan to a ladder match."
MEATHEADS:
The reason for the Meatheads trading away Mogilny is
because he was useless to the team. He has been hurt a couple of times
already this season. The team played better without him in the lineup.
Losing Ozolinch will hurt, but gaining a superstar like Roenick for
someone like Ozolinch will help the team defencively as well. Nolan will
solidify our third line Right Wing, unless he gets traded...
Mogilny apparently loves the Knights, He scored in his first game with
them. Roenick loves the Meatheads as well. He had 3 points as well as an
assist on the game winner in his debut with the Meatheads.
ICE BARONS:
The Ice Barons have returned to their winning ways, being 3-1-2 in their last 6
games and are comfortably in first place in their rather weak division. No
injuries lately (knock on wood) and no hot rumors to report (other than the
problems associated with the All-Star game selection!). We would like to see
the All-Star game rotated around the league so that eventually everyone gets an
opportunity to host the game. Generally giving it to long-established teams
does not seem to be a fair policy.
HACKSAWS:
Hebert will be traded...only a matter of time......lots of trade rumours are
flying around the city...Sydor, Malakhov, Gelinas, Ciccarelli, Andreychuk, and
even Rob Zamuner's name have been hear in the trade mill in recent weeks.
FREEZE:
The Freeze closed a deal obtaining Derian Hatcher for minor leaguer Chris
Washburn and the struggling Eric Daze. The Freeze were looking to get a big
solid D-man and picked up former Freeze player Derian Hatcher who was part of
the club when the Freeze won the league. More rumors continue to circle around
Brett Hull and the recently resurgent Peter Bondra but nother has concluded.
Talk around the league had Hitmen GM Jason Stumpf and Freeze Coach/GM JJ as
tight as ever in their pursuit to physically punish the league and all media
members from Toledo to Waterloo but recent activities surrounding the WLUHL
All-Star game and Coach JJ's subsequent jail time have perplexed even the teams
own front offices.
